Elena Samia is a native Londoner, crafting animated and fantasy stories with soul and commercial appeal. Her scripts and video game IPs centre bold, fully realised characters who challenge stereotypes and traditional narratives — especially women from underrepresented cultures — who contend with the depths and complexities of their identity, connection, and what it means to be truly human. These stories are important as they provide a unique lens on cultures and stories that have never been properly explored or examined in film and animation.
Elena collaborated with legendary Hollywood film director Gary Trousdale (Beauty & The Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame & Atlantis: The Lost Empire) on her animated feature centred on the original Amazonian and Aphrodite, based in Ancient Mesopotamia.
She has won international acclaim through THU, a global entertainment community including attending Storytelling Japan 2025, Creators’ Circle 2023 and a finalist in Talent League 2024 — connecting her with legendary and world-class storytellers across Hollywood and beyond.
Before writing, Elena worked as a professional actress and voiceover artist across continents and as a paralegal in London after earning a Graduate Diploma in Law with honours and a First Class degree in Modern Foreign Languages. The combination of law, performance, and story gives her work a rare and unique perspective.
Fluent in Spanish, Levantine Arabic, Portuguese, French, and English, she draws from a vast universe of voices — creating stories that are mythological and feel deeply personal yet also, timeless with a touch of the present.
Elena is currently writing her third feature and co-wrote THU’s cyberpunk-fantasy animated short film, The Alchemy of a Storm, which is set to be released in Portugal, September 2026. She is currently seeking for representation and welcomes collaboration.
When she is not in London, you will find Elena somewhere between continents, languages, cultures, and time zones, chasing the next great story - here, there, or anywhere.
